(Fĭbӗr Optĭcs) Wӗăkly Guĭdĭng ăpproxĭmătĭon & Numbӗr Of Modӗs ĭn Stӗp ĭndӗx Fĭbӗr

Hello experts!!

How are you all?????

I have two question regarding with the fiber Optics.

1) I was reading in the book which I quoted below:
Optical fibers used in communication purposes follow wӗăkly guĭdĭng ăpproxĭmătĭon where the relative refractive index (delta) is much less than 1
.
My question is What is wӗăkly guĭdĭng ăpproxĭmătĭon when considering relative refractive index difference?

2) I was also reading in the book the following equation for the no. of modӗs ĭn stӗp ĭndӗx fĭbӗr as M=2aΩ/λ² and then they wrote directly this equation M = V²/2. How did they get this second equation? What would be the middle steps sir?

Thank you very much.
