hello,
I went through the previous posts but still haven't found how i can rectify the error.
I am using at89s52 controller. Is their any difference between avr controller and at89s52 controller?
I am using progisp programmer, when I click on read device,I get " Chip Enable Program Error" why am I getting this error? what do I need to do to correct it?

Can I create the hex file using keil software and the load it using progisp?

If not keil which software do I require to write and compile the program?

What is the programming hardware you are using?

Show your connections.

There are lot of reasons that gives chip enable program error.

Hex file is not related to this error

I am using a usb enabled isp programmer to interface board to the computer.I am using a 8051 isp programmer. They haven't given the circuit diagram for isp programmer when I bought it.I can share the link about the device.

What are the basic steps I can do to check if the isp programmer is working fine?

I am using ProgispV1.72 with USBasp driver for usb.

Does the isp programmer software depend on which microcontroller i use in the isp programmer circuit?

Have you followed the instruction while programming 89 chips?
NOTE : While Using 8051 ISP programmer Please remove capacitor 10mfd in reset circuit as reset Pin is used for programming
After Reset will be applied from programmer itsellf

Yeah took it out. Burnt two programs it worked perfectly. Then when we tried to burn the third program, same error,"PROGRAM CHIP ENABLE ERROR".The board is executing the previous code(2nd program which we successfully burnt). Not able to erase the previous code nor load any other code.

Try a new chip.

It was not required. you just have to leave P1.6 MISO pin free, while burning the code. Then it doesn't show that error.
