Building a LED GLOBE - problem with transfer

Hi, i'm trying to make a led globe as a project. It's similar to this and i have make a big part of the construction. My problem is the transfer of the electricity. I'm using two contacts as a 5V and gnd. I havent installed the leds and the uC yet but i have test it using only one led to see if it's working properly so far. It's working but as it turns i can see some small spots where the led is not ON. I can barelly see them but they are there. So my uC won't work correct, it will keep reseting at each spot. I was wondering if i could use a big capacitor and prevent the voltage from dropping for a small period of time. What do you think?? Maybe there is a easier way to transfer the voltage?

A big capacitor might help, but even 1000uF will drop below 2V in about 6ms with 30x25mA LED's all lit at once. Below 4V will cause the PIC to reset. You will need a lot of capacitance if you don't improve the physical power connections.

If the LED drivers are connected to the PIC so that they don't draw significant current from it, then you could possibly isolate the PIC's power rails with a schottky diode followed by another big capacitor. The LED's might drain the main capacitor quickly, but the PIC only draws a few mA itself. The diode would prevent the following capacitor from discharging into the LED's, reserving it for the PIC, and the PIC could then run for longer before the voltage drops to reset it.
 

In that case i could even use a battery for the pic. But how can i improve the contact??


I think i could use two metal brushes, it's metal so there will be conductivity and they would be just elastic enough to make a continuous contact, plus many 5v and gnd contacts for each.
