I wanna feedback encoder signals to explorer-16 board for dsp calc.
The pulses from encoder are 5v. Do I need a interface to convert it to 3.3v before connecting the explorer-16??
Thx a lot!!

According to the Explorer 16 User's Manual, Page 32:

PIC24 and dsPIC33F devices both have some 5V tolerant input pins. If a 5V tolerant input is connected to the PIC18LF4550, protection diodes on the PIC18LF4550 device’s port pins will limit inputs to VDD. For more information on which pins of the 16-bit devices are 5V tolerant, refer to the appropriate device data sheet.

I have attached the user manual and both PIC data sheets for further reference.

Hope this helps you in your endeavor.
