Hello
I am designing a microstrip UWB antenna from 3 to 6 GHZ .Actually it is the implementation of a research paper. Can anyone help me how to find the distance between two elements of the array. The values r given but it is not given how to find them ?

Basically, interelements spacing of an array affects two things: pattern of the array(i.e. array factor) and mutual coupling effects btw elements. Ideally elements dont affect each other and you set interelement spacing so that you get desired pattern.
First, determine your goals: pattern, directivity etc. In other words answer the question why you use an array antenna. Then, try to achieve these goals by using an EM simulator like HFSS, FEKO etc. Nobody can give u interelement spacing of an antenna array, you have to design it in an EM software and make tailoring on it in accordance with your specs.

Thanx for your answer...
I m using array to achieve wide band. If i use the scale factor it does not give correct results. The spacing given in the paper is not according to the scaled value . I m using ADS momentum for simulation and it takes too much time to simulate over wide band, so if i optimize the design by changing the spacing it will be quite difficult .The design is attached with .please have a look at

Its a Log Periodic Antenna of 17 elements to achieve wide band . The scale factor is 1.05 but the spacing is not according to it .
Thanx...

it is Log periodic antenna..

hi
may be in some paper introduce LP antenna as an array antenna but actually its not an common array structure and we never use array technique for made wide bandwidth
in LP antenna we have and equation which u can saw in every book like Kraus and stutzman if using that formula and use the ratio around 1.04-1.08 u achieve to good result
