hi
i m simulating a waveguide structure as a coupler. its a four port structure. i need to calculate even and odd mode propagation constant. i have used driven modal solution but it cannot calculate even odd mode beta. i have seen in some other threads that even and odd mode excitation is possible in driven terminal solution. i m not familiar with driven terminal. plz explain this in context of terminal and wave ports. and how can i have even and odd mode excitation. i m using HFSS 12.

Hi,

Driven terminal solution is very similar to driven modal solution. I suggest reading the online help of the software. Specially look at the sections for assigning excitation for lumped and wave ports for either type pf solution. Good luck!

Joline.
