hello everyone,
can anyone tell what does "2-2-2" stand for in "2-2-2 modified cascaded sigma delta modulator"
or "2-2" in "2-2 modified cascaded sigma delta modulator"

The 2 stands for 2nd order, so it means cascading 2nd order SD blocks.

well the 2 -2 -2 means a mash structure with 3 ( there are three 2's) second order loop( each 2) filter in series. Look into mash sigma delta converters. As for the modified it should mean like a mixed feedforward- feedback structure( only possible with 3rd order or more) or an all feedforward structure. I would say a standard structure is an all feedback structure. Another example a 2-1-2 structure means 2nd order then 1st order then 2nd order in series.
Hope this helps
