MPLAB-ICD 1 firmware upgard

Hello i have the MPLAB-ICD 1 and it has 2.30.01 firmware

my goal is to use this one with pic 16F87xA and i cannot . i was tols to upgrade to 2.40.01 firmware and i'v download a file name icd24001.obj

and i was instructed i tried to "download a new operating system" on the MPLAB software and it asked for the OBJ file but after he finish reading it and tried to burn it to the module i got an error message regarding some communication problem (4) , and a sec before it programed my whole project to the 16F877 and worked prefect and i tried it after my communication error and it also worked great

can anyone help me upgrading my MPLAB-ICD? or can anyone send the HEX file so i can use some external programemr to burn my mudule?
 

Hello,

I also have an old ICD1 which I do not use for debugging but just as a simple PIC programmer.

You can upgrade it with the software from CCS and it works perfect for either PIC16 or PIC18 series.

Look at microchip website to find the "nex" firmware to use ICD1 with 16F87xA.
CD:)
 

microchip replied that they do not support it anymore
