as the topic title says....is it too tough to code a PLL using VHDL for a beginer? is ready made open source code available on the net?

What kind of PLL you're talking about?

Phase lock loop is very important in high speed digital harware design,we can use device premitive to build custom behavior of PLL as per need and usage.

FOR OPTIMUM PLL performance i will recommend V4 built-in premitive.
