hii i am krishna prasad i just built pickit2 clone usb programmer i donno what is wrong with that its not detecting in my comp i built it with the help of this link

**broken link removed**

when i check the vss and vdd voltage output its saying 4.98v plz help me i have attached the eagle files and also my pickit2 clone pic plz help me...........

Vdd should be 4.6 to 5 volts as it is the USB supply passed through a diode. Confirm that the firmware is programmed in the chip. The said circuit and one from Blueroom, is well tested, and built sucessfully by many of our friends here. Apart from the firmware, you may check for some hardware flaws on your PCB as i see it is home made.
Cheers

yeah i built at home... how can i resolve this issue i have burnt the same hex file to the pic using my old serial programmer...

i think the voltage supply from vdd and vss seems to be correct according to u sir

can u please send me the correct hex file if possible

Have a look at this thread, and find some download links of the projects with firmware's included.

Cheers

at least the programmer should detect even without the pic i guess krishna prasad when u already have a serial programmer why do u need usb one ????

The OP is refering to the Pickit 2 clone which is not detecting, and it is no way possible to detect the programmer by the PC, without the firmware chip in.

Either your osillator not oscilating or your uC not programmed properly or you connect your USB pin to uC wrongly and probably your USB not connected to your uC
