Calibre LVS needs to know the power net- Why?

Hi,

When calibre does the LVS, it needs to know where the VDD/GND nets are. I don't understand the reason why? Intuitively, power nets are not different from any other nets when it comes to LVS, or aren't they?

I think calibre only creats warning if there is no power/ground net. LVS can pass the comparison.
