at commands cutecom

Hi All,

I am using SIM300 module for sending SMS but it is not working as expected. Here is what I am doing:

1. AT+CMGF=1 // Text mode
2. AT+CMGW="09xxxxxxxxx" // A valid number

After step 2 I am getting ">" text prompt.

Now when I type the message I want to send and do <Ctrl> + <Z>, instead of sending the SMS it acts as undo command and deletes the message from input.

I am using PC serial port for sending AT commands. Operating system - Fedora 10, software for giving inputs - cutecom.

Please help me in understanding where am I going wrong.
