what's the difference between coherent and non-coherent FSK demodulator?

Re: FSK demodulator

I haven't found the direct answer about the difference between the coherent and non-choherent FSK demodulator. But after read some papers about the two kinds of demodulator I conclude that if the demodulator uses signal phase as one of the decide variable then the receiver should be coherent receiver. Or else, if only signal amplitude or power is used as the decide variable then it should be non-coherent receiver.

Can anyone tell me is this conclude right?
