Crystal Oscillator

Hi, i tried to simulate following circuit through circuit maker 5 , and also implemented on bread board.
Both the times Oscillations were not produced.

Can you help me find the fault ?

Re: Crystal Oscillator

What is the resonance frequency of the crystal?

Re: Crystal Oscillator

C2 is limiting the frequency response of the transistor. It could be large enough that the gain is too low at the crystal frequency. Also, the load on the output could be to low and also limiting the gain. You should follow the transistor by a buffer stage like a source follower.

Re: Crystal Oscillator

Crystal oscillator resonating at 12 Mhz.

Re: Crystal Oscillator

Try circuit as per attached diagram .. (right)

Re: Crystal Oscillator

Thanks , i would try out that circuit too.

But i'd prefer if you can help me with that circuit itself as it contains no Inductor coil.
Thanks !

Re: Crystal Oscillator

Have you tried to remove C2(100pf) from the circuit .. I don't think you need it there ..
