hi,

our mechanical people want a model of our CADSTAR PCB.

do you know how we give it to them.?

we have boardmodeller lite also.

You can give tehm a Step model of your PCB I think in Cadstar there is optuion to generate step model.
Otherwise you can give DXF file also.

Hi, as Roland says you use BML to create step files.

Transfer your PCB through to BML, replace any important parts with models within your BML library.
Then export it as a step assembly.

This can then be read in using Inventor etc.

That enables a complete 3D model to be output from your CADSTAR design.

You can make any changes in Inventor and reverse the process back to CADSTAR so that you get your board right first time.
