Re: request for help ,how to interface LCD and sensors with

You can obtain LCD standard in 2 ways, Parallel or Serial interface.

The most common for 2 x 16 is Parallel so you will need say 8 bits data, RD, WR, CS lines at least for the interface to it. As a bit bash exercise it is not too bad in C.

For the temp sensor i would suggest https://focus.ti.com/docs/prod/folders/print/tmp100.html it is a digital sensor with I2C interface.

If you use a 8052 with on board I2C interface you can poll the sensor and read the values back easy.

If you want a nice exercise i think there are many coe examples available for PIC, which you could use for a start of your project.

https://focus.ti.com/docs/apps/catalog/resources/appnoteabstract.jhtml?abstractName=slaa151 should be a complete project and code, but not with 8052

Hi there,

Try the following link.. it shows how to interface 8051 mcu to a temp. sensor (DS1620) and a LCD panel. However, the code is written in ASM.

Also **broken link removed**
this link will show you how to measure temp. (using LM35d sensor) and display the measured temp. on a 16x1 LCD panel. The source code is written in C. (you need Micro C Compiler from Dunfiled Development Systems to compile this file).
