PIC18F2455 & PIC18F2550 programmer using serial port

Hi Everybody, I want a programmer for PIC18F2455 & PIC18F2550 using serial port.

If u have the circuit & the software to help it to burn on thePIC, Plz. give me :|

I checked the USB-GTP programmer, but no Firmware (it's not free) & then i u get the firmware also how do u program these PIC's.

U canuse it warious programmers, check out its help file.... JDM serial programmmer is also avaliable but i think it is tobe used in LVP mode..

You can use JDM for program PIC18F2455 & PIC18F2550 . schematic from **broken link removed** . software use Winpic800 .

check for gtp-usb summer 2005. It's free and work with wpic800 3.55g
for prog 18F2455 i was used atr2003 very easy but parallel programmer.

Thanks, but I visited this site before posting here. Well, I got confused with the Switch-2. It saya that if VPP is first then SW2 must be ON or if VDD is first then SW2 must be OFF. Then what is the use if it is "Multi PIC Programmer".

I think the instruction on the website sholud be made correct, shuch as a TABLE showing the NAME of the MICROCONTROLLER, Position of both the switches 1&2.

I already done the "uJDM Programmer" for PIC16F84A & works fine for ICPROG & WINPIC800. Then I got Adaptor circuit for PIC18F2550 & PIC18F2455, the WINPIC800 sometimes detects this device & sometime says "unknown".

Hey Guys, I just sent a nail to FENG3, the creator of "Multi PIC programmer" & I got a reply, here it is:

Hi,

SW2 is used for the low pin-count PICs such as PIC12F629, PIC12F675 and
PIC12F683.
These PICs can work without using external clock.
SW2 will disturb these PICs running on the programmer.(slide SW2 to
right)
PIC16F84A, PIC18F2455 and PIC18F2550 don't have the internal clock.
These PICs can't work without using external clock.(slide SW2 to left)

If your PIC's #1 pin is MCLR/Vpp, slide SW1 to left.
If your PIC's #4 pin is MCLR/Vpp, slide SW1 to right.

Usually it should program 18F2550 too. As you see in the schematic, it was designed in 2005 when 18F2550 was not available and thus may not have listed. Cheers

Myself Sumanta Kumar Show is facing a problem regarding the implementation of a logic which we want to implement in the Micro-controller. Its is as follows -

Suppose I have two ports name PORT1 and PORT2. Now the ports status will change by the following way:-


PORT1 PORT2 COMMENT

5 V or Logic1 5 V or Logic1 Initial condition

0 V or Logic0 5 V or Logic1 Timer Start

0 V or Logic0 0 V or Logic0 Timer Stop


Now the time gap between timer start and timer stop will be in nano-second range. I want to display this time delay on a display device. This will be done one time.

It will not be done in a continuous manner. If need another experiment will perform manually by pressing power on/off switch or pressing reset button. Please send me your

valuable suggestion (any device that makes it easy to attain the objective). The microcontroller PIC18f2455 have CAPTURE bit resolution of 5.2 nanoseconds and COMPARE bit

resolution of 83.3 nanoseconds. So is it possible that the measurement of time in nanoseconds can be possible through this microcontroller. Please suggest me.
