8038 waveform generator

would you help me with my project of designing a low cost, slot together test gear modules a 1Hz to 100KHz sine, square and triangular wave generator which uses a 8038 ic?would you provide me with the applications of the circuit.

8038 generator

Hi,
in the datasheet/application note there is a circuit which you can just rig up and it will work. I had domne this project.

The 8038 is a quite old IC and soon you will have problems purchasing it.
I suggest the MAX038, by Maxim.
Probably also it is cheaper.

waveform generator 8038

Hi !

I agree with FANT, the 8038 IC (Intersil) is obsolete and there are better function generators ICs. The MAX038 (Maxim) is far better tha 8038, but in my country it costs 4 times more than XR2206 (Exar) that has a very good ratio cost/benefit.
The differences are:

MAX038
Frequency range: 0 to 20MHz
Low sine wave distortion: 0.75%
Duty cycle: 15% to 85%
Sweep range: 350 to 1

XR2206
Frequency range: 0.01Hz to 1MHz
Low sine wave distortion: 0.5%
Duty cycle: 1% to 99%
Sweep range 2000 to 1

8038 obsolete what to do

Here's something you that might help you.
Again its based on the maxim MAX038 chip.
