hi,

i want to control the solenoid valves with my pic 18f4550.
as i think i will connect transformer for supply, mosfet and flyback diode.
any other idea? suggestion? circuit?

thanks advance...

it depends on your application.are you going to use usb feature too.
you can also try some bluetooth modules if want to interface pc laptop
with a vb code
if you are not using usb then no need to use that 4550,any cheap handy controller also can do such work

Use transistor on uC pin to drive solenoid.

Something like this :

hi...

i found many ic for driving solenoid like l293,l295 etc. but this ic are for dc output. and my solenoid valve is working with ac voltage and current. so any other ic for that???

Using a relay would be the easiest as it provided isolation from the 24vac.
You switch the relay on from the pic through a transistor. The relay switches the solenoid on.

If you would like to stay at the solid state side I would suggest that you use a TRIAC (Thyristor).

my solenoid valve is working on 24vac and 1a. how should i use this?

Take relay with coil for 24V and contacts for at least 1-2A. You can use relay with coil on 5V I dont see way you must use 24V for coil.

U can use solenoid valve directly, without any other relay, by using ssr (solid state relay). U can find lot of circuits on google images.

is the simplest circuit of SSR. use this

This is not directly method, its opticaly isolated, and this is also called relay, precizely Solid State Relay - SSR.

This is also good metode for this purpose if needed. SSR dissipate power, and often must be isolated from heatsink, also require several parts for design, unlike standard relay.
