Problem running hspice multi-processing with .alter

multiple .alter hspice I'm using hspice 2008.09, windows version my netlist contains 2 .alter before .end According to the manual, I could split all the 3 cases in to 3 CPU by using -mp such as hspice.exe -i netlist.sp -o -mp BUT, the hspice window appears shortly and closes with nothing...

How to draw a schematic in this style

This style is used widely in many text books and thesises(see the attachment pic). Unfortunately, I'm not able to find such a software to create this kind of graphics. Can someone give me some advice about software information or some plugins.

Differential VCO, Short or High Resistance at control point?

Re: Differential VCO, Short or High Resistance at control po Yes, in theory, it is short to gnd. But, in the measurement, the vctrl is given by a dc probe, which cannot be considered as an ideal "short" to ground. Then, my problem is the necessity of adding a decouple capacitor for the RED node

Differential VCO, Short or High Resistance at control point?

The frequency of this vco is controlled by the Vctrl at the RED point. I'm not sure whether this node should be short to ground or high resistance for the signal. That is to say whether to add a big capacitor to short it to ground or connect to a high resistor to Vctrl.

What is the result if only increase the SRF of an inductor?

If a spiral inductor is improved to have a higher self resonant frequency (SRF), but remaining the inductance and Q factor, What will a circuit, e.g. VCO, benefit from it? As in my knowledge, the performace of VCO is determined by Q-factor of inductor. The designers optimize the inductor to...

finite-ground singlewire layout simulation in Momentum

This problem is described in @DS momentum help. You should use internal port and ground reference instead of single port.

how to use RGLC file in @ds transmission line simulation

I've got rglc parameters of a multiconductor transmission line system. I'd like to use @ds to simulate the system based on these parameters, not calculate by ads itself. Can someone show me the steps or in @ds and the format of the rglc file. The @ds help doesn't describe it in detail.

    Trouble in VNA calibration

I set the frequency range from 5G to 10G and operate the standard 1 port calibration (SOL), using the standard calibration kits. I happened to see the strange display: When I re-connect the "open" calibration kit I used before, the display is not a point or even a short line around the open...

    1/4 wavelength or 1/2 wavelength

In a narrow band system, I think 1/2wavelength is useless. the voltages and currents in transmmision lines are periodical of T=1/2 wavelength.

how about the accuracy of a cmos spice model in RF freq

The model is a standard bsim3 model for digital circuit design. How about its accuracy in 10 or 20GHz or above during the analog design?

Some questions about measure spiral inductor on wafer

GP-------------GP SP-----@------SP GP-------------GP GP: Ground Pad SP: Signal Pad @: spiral inductor The other questions are: 1. Do I need to connect two ground pads under the signal pad on each side? 2. Do I need to draw "open" "short" "through" and "load" for calibration?

How to calculate the input impedance from FDTD simulation?

the smaller the T, the narrower the pulse width. you can plot some curves with different T.

How to calculate the input impedance from FDTD simulation?

dt is constrained by the spacial grids and satisfied with stable condition. t is the time when gauss pulse reaches to the peak. The greater of t, the more flat of exciting fields from the start time. I mean, the E(y) is start from zero, not suddenly reach a high value. You can try to simulate the...

How to calculate the input impedance from FDTD simulation?

The voltage and current you mentioned are the values at one time spot. Calculate V and I at every time on your concerned place. Now you've got the voltages and currents at every time steps. i.e. you got v(t) and i(t), where t=n*deltaT. deltaT is time step. n=0,1,2,... Then V(f)=FFT(v(t)) and...
