Usually 8-bits are better from the power consumption side of of things too (if you are operating off a battery).
If you have a simple application why go through the extra work of using 32-bit?
You need to find a Universal Programmer that is compatible with that IC. You'll need to also get the appropriate adapters for the IC.
These usually allow you to read the memory of a programmed device and store it to a file (such as .hex) which can subsequently be written to another device.
