i have an equipment that's powered by a 3 phase 4 wire source

how to select a diode
I think we should select a diode with average rating that's larger than the peak current in our application
so if we have a triangle current with peak 20A 30% duty cyle ( average = 3 A ) then we should select a diode with average rating > 20 A
IS THAT TRUE...

I have SMPS where the ouput current is a triangle with peak 20 A
and a duty cycle 30%
I have a diodes where its datasheet says that its non-repetative peak is 50A and it'smaximum average is 12 A
i wounder if this diode will work with the SMPS
i just ask abt...

Dear all finally i got a solution
the attached files contain 4 identical circuits that contains a darlington
those circuits simulat a coil which could be adjusted to any inductance value up to 10H
i used it and it performs very good

also i think a chipt that convert from 232<<>> 485 will be expensive if avilabel
you can try two chip solution like Max232 + TI sn65lbc184
