ADS 2009U1 vs ADS 2011: Frequency response shift problem

The bandwidth is around 50MHz. The problem occurs in every design. When I simulate the design in the other version the whole band shifts around 30-40MHz. If I scale the design I can get it back to the original band...

ADS 2009U1 vs ADS 2011: Frequency response shift problem

Hello all, I am having a problem of frequency shift in ADS. I have a microstrip filter design which I simulate in Momentum. This filter's center frequency in 1580MHz in ADS 2009U1. However, the same filter's center frequency is 1615MHz in ADS 2011. I use same substrate parameters and mesh...

    FR-4 material for antenna design

I believe you can easily find variety of FR-4 substrates in the market. Just a small thing to add, FR-4 is not a very reliable substrate especially for high frequencies. At least buying from a known brand would be good.

    ADS Momentum simulation with varactor?

Thank you for all the answers. I tried with the capacitors and it seems to be working though it needs a lot of work. Will try nonlinear equations too. Cheers.

    ADS Momentum simulation with varactor?

Hello all, I am working on a filter design and I use ADS Momentum for simulation. Its a microstrip filter which is in a complex shape and can't be set up in ADS schematic. Now I want to add a varactor at some point to make it tunable but I don't know how to do it. So I guess I have to do this...

    ADS Momentum optimization help please

Hi enjunear, Thank you for explaining the solution in detail but I am still having a problem with assigning a variable name to the polygon. When I click the properties of a polygon there is only the layer option and no length. So I can't make it variable. What am I missing? Please see the...

    ADS Momentum optimization help please

Hi, I am having some problems with optimization in ADS Momentum. I have a filter design in Momentum and it consists of several polygons. I need to optimize some of these polygons but I couldn't figure out how to do it. I searched for it but nothing helpful... When I double click a polygon there...

    ADS DXF/DWG import problem

Hello, I created a filter design in AutoCAD and imported it in ADS however I have a problem with the dimensions. My filter contains hexagonal shapes which have 6mm edge length. In AutoCAD everything is fine and every edge is 6mm. When I import this shape in ADS each edge is 146mm and of course...

How to creare custom layouts in ADS Momentum?

Thanks for the quick answer. This seems better then the mouse input really. Is there any other options as well? Thanks

How to creare custom layouts in ADS Momentum?

How to create custom layouts in ADS Momentum? Hi, I need to design a microwave filter in ADS momentum and its shape is custom. Built-in shapes like Mcorn, Mcurve, MTee don't help. For example how can I create hexagonal resonator? Dimensions are important so draw polygon function doesn't help...

    FM mobile antenna help

Any antenna specifically designed for the FM frequency band would do the job. It depends on your selection or need.

RF choke + Inductor Self Resonant Frequency

Hi, SRF should be higher than the operating frequency. The higher the better. As the operating frequency comes closer to SRF the effectiveness of the inductor decreases. If SRF is below the operating frequency for an RF choke, the parasitic capacitance would cause oscillation.
