I designed an antenna using the antenna creator in HFSS that looks like this:

I want to turn this into a PCB, but I'm a little confused on how I'll hook it up. Whenever I create a spiral antenna, it adds a large square in the middle. Is that...
Thanks for the help everybody, I really appreciate it. For the inductor, L21, I found one that Coilcraft makes that is 180 nH and has an SRF of 1.08 GHz. Could that work? Since the rest of my system is 50 ohms, the impedance looking in to the amp and bias tee will be different, so would a buffer...
Thanks goldsmith. Could you clarify that formula for me? I'm not sure what the 't' is. Also, which capacitor are you referring to as being too large? C80 or the parallel combination of C81, C82, and C83?
I am using a PSA4-5043+ amplifier in my design and am having trouble getting an output. I attached the relevant portion of my schematic. I am amplifying signals in the range of 500-600 MHz. If I probe the input to the amplifier, I can correctly see my signal, but the output appears to have a...
I could be totally blind, but I don't see any values for L and C. There are a couple cap values, and they reference another part they make that is an integrated bias tee (tcbt-14+) but I don't see where the suggested values for L and C are. I don't want to use the TCBT-14+ because it's $9.
I'm working on a design with an amplifier, the PSA4-5043+. I need to make a bias tee as the schematic shows: https://www.minicircuits.com/pcb/WTB-653+_P02.pdf. I think I understand how a bias tee works, but I'm not sure how to calculate the values of L and C. My design is 50 ohms and operates...
So do you think it would be better to make a stripline directional coupler next to the transmission lines I'd like to tap or use one like this: https://www.minicircuits.com/pdfs/ADC-10-4.pdf
If I used the one from minicircuits, I'd have to figure out a way to make it removable (ie leave it...
Do surface mount RF taps exist? I'm trying to figure out how to be able to observe my signal through several RF stages. I feel like it's a bad idea to try to just put connectors in series with a transmission line though.
I need a VSA that I can use on signals up to 1 GHz, and does digital demodulation. I've been renting a really expensive model from Agilent, but I'd like to find a cheaper one that I can buy off of ebay or something. What would be some good models to look for? I'd like to pay under $5000, if...
I'd like to measure propagation delay through a chip. This is often on the order of 5-7 ns, and I'd like to be able to sense down to a nanosecond or less so I can get good accuracy. Here's the approach I'm thinking: https://i.imgur.com/Tnksf.png
I'm interested in measuring delay through a logic...
I'm sure there's a solution to this, but I don't know it. I have a chip that is both transmitting and receiving from a single antenna (using TDD). I want to amplify the transmitted signal, but I'm not sure how to add a PA that won't interfere with receiving signals. Is there a special kind of...
What happens to a chip when it's maximum pressure is exceeded? I know some data sheets specify a maximum pressure, but what is the failure mode there? Will it just quit working or will performance degrade?
Re: Strange GMSK behavior
Do you think that could be at least partially responsible for my problem? And what was it in those plots that told you there was a DC offset?
