    voltage headroom limitation

hmm i thought it is the dynamic range of the transistor. How much it can swing under saturation region.

How can we increase the speed of a CMOS hysteris comparator ?

Comparator Speed I designed the comparator with hysteresis internal, but I found the gain of the comparator is low. Is it supposed to be that way?

Problem with output stage of a class D amplifier

Output stage Yes.. the low pass filter must be at least 20 or 30khz to allow audio signal. The output stage need to be very very large,.. you need buffer for that.

    triangular wave generator

Errr.. actually I am not sure whether this is a good idea. But from the waveform obtained, it seems there was high frequency component in the waveform. So I added small caps just to remove those unwanted 'distortion'. What do you think?

What's the cause of THD in class D amplifiers?

Hi all, I am designing this class D amplifier with feedback. The THD is pretty high. I am really wondering the causes of the THD. I know it should have come from the non-linearity in the system. I hope to reduce it to minimal, but really got problem. Do anyone design it before? Or any...

    triangular wave generator

Yup, I have made the compensation and making sure sufficient current in the integrator. Btw, I have solved the issue. thx!

    Why use negative feedback!!!

it will lower the noise if it is inside the system, eg. power supply noise or distortion within. Further analysis is described in the Sergio Franco textbook. I read it there.

WHat is a good book to start designing a analog circuit?

Grey and Meyer is also good actually. In fact more basic than razavi

Help me with saturation and biasing of MOS as switches?

Re: MOS as switch question The NMOS must be fully turn ON. When it is working as a switch, it will act in triode with low resistance path. You can check the digital ic notes.

I need a buffer which can drive a low resistor below 1K&

buffer help Ya, source follower will do. If you need rail to rail, then you need class AB o/p stage.

    help me approach my dream

Actually if you are not enrolled in the ic design class, it's tough. The practical aspect of design is really important.

How to know the overall duty cycle of PWM?

Hi all, I am designing this PWM using comparator and triangular carrier. I am a bit confused about the duty cycle. I roughly know it is the ratio of high and low over 1 period. But, how do I know the overall duty cycle? What is the meaning of zero-input duty cycle? Thank you in advance.

    triangular wave generator

Thank you for the input, but this is actually done in a simulation. The op-amp is self-designed, it is a folded-cascode, single stage amplifier. That is why I thought it is the op-amp-problem. The pulses is not clean waveform, there are some jitters at both low and high voltage. Thank you.

class d amplifier- problem with feedback loop

thank you for the input. I already have the paper and use it for the initial design stage. Actually I am using a second order intgrator, but thinking to upgrade to 3rd or 4th order, but not sure whether it is advisable. I am taking the output prior to the low pass filter output. So, the...

class d amplifier- problem with feedback loop

hi, I am designing this class d amplifier with feedback. I am not sure how much of the feedback should I fedback and summed with the input audio signal. I am using a resistive feedback network. I used integrator to remove the higher order harmanics. But wondering whether it would be better to...
