Zero Current Switching question.

Hi all

I wonder about below circuit.

There are peak inductor current (Ipk) and Average input current (Iav)

And at many materials, it shows that Ipk=2*Iav.

It seems like that. but, how can I prove that? I wonder about that.

I also haven't prove/derive the equation (Ipk=2*Iav),
but I think, the "clue" there is equation regarding a triangle's area.. :idea:
 

the area under your "av input current" and the area under all those triangles is the same.

So the same amount of charge is passed in any given time.

yes the height of that black sine you show is one half of the height of the peak of the highest triangle.


on different note, what happens at switch on......you get resonant LC effect causing big overvoltage problem to you.
