how to write to external memory

I have to use an external memory in one of my application.I decided to use serial flash ic.
I want some information related to,
1.How to write to sectors in a memory?
2.What can be the sector size?
3.Any good tutorials on writing to sectors in a memory?

Hi your request depend on the type of micro you selected

whether you are using PIC16 you will need to emulate the bus connection to the memory

or whether you are using STM32 who allready has EBI (External Bus Interface) you will need to set the EBI to work with the external memory

I havn't worked much with PIC controllers
I am using LPC2368 for my application
I m using serial flash so a simple SPI interface can do the job isn't it?
