wlan scrambler

Hi
i am decoding the communication between AP and a client

i know that during communication, scrambler in 802.11b physical layer starts with one intilization state and then it keeps on changing

my query is that during control or authentication frames , does WLAN scrambles the information or is it only that during data communication, the scrambler comes into play

i am looking at to find that first communication where scrambler is in intilization state,

but i dont know whether i should only monitor data frames or should also look inauthentication, deauthentications, acknowledgments frames etc tec
