project on wireless mouse

Hey, everyone. I am a college student and going to design a wireless mouse for my senior design.

However, I only have some analog and digital eletronic knowledge from textbook. I am going to know where I can find any information about that? What kind of knowledge are essential for the mouse design and wireless device design?
How can I get some information about the protocal and other computer I/O for mouse design?
