Will ESR of capacitor affect charging time?

I have three capacitors put in series, each has 1F 5.5V, connected to a circuit with a resistor 33 ohm and 13V supply. Will the value of ESR (Equivalent Series Resistance) affect the time constant RC? That means R = 33 only or, if each capacitor has 30 ohm ESR, value R would equal 33 + 3 * 30 ?

I'm not sure if I understand your question, but if Vcc =13Vdc
and you have 3- 1F Caps in series your impedance is ∞ !

So R = 33 + ∞

τ = 33 * (1/{(1/1)+(1/1)+(1/1)}) = 11 sec = 1/(2Π fo) --> fo = 69Hz
So if you disconnected the 13V Power supply from the circuit then the
ESR might have and effect, it depends on the Values used. In this case the fo
of the circuit would be 69Hz, so the Caps Zo = 1/(2Π*fo*Ctot) = 3.14 Ω.


ESR is for ac signals, the ESR will tell you at what frequency your
Cap will start looking like an Inductor, and they are typically at higher frequencies

Yes, but a 30ohm esr for 1F cap is too high, may be 30milliohm.
