Hi

I have seen in many Electronics Board that LC combination is been used.

What is the Purpose of that..?

How it can help to Reduce the noise in the Long routed tracks..??

Weblinks/Articles Appreciated

Thanks

Hi,

show schematic. LC´s can be used anywere: as resonant, as filter, for power applications, for signal lines..

A LC combination acts like a resonator with a characteristic frequency. An ideal LC combination can act as absorber and emitter- at the same time. Depending on the configuration, it can be used as a filter for a specific range. Usually, RC or LR circuits are preferred because they are dissipative (absorb but does not emit) in nature.

LC Filters are better for high frequency noise reduction because in LC filters both the components are reactive and showing better performance in high frequency(Re actance XL = 2πfL is high for ac component)
LC Filters are good in DC line(for noise filtering) because series L have less DCR(Power dissipation is less) and parallel C have no issue in DC line(It will reduce the ripple in the DC line). But RL or RC having high power dissipation than LC
