* and a lot of other parameters.

For one the "best" solution is a glass fiber cable with high speed
for the other just two GSM modems. Or modems on telefone lines.

using internet, radio, optical with laser, cable (copper) or not..
ultrasonic would be a challenge....

Please learn to provide technical data.

Define "high speed". In bits/s.
Define how you want transmit the data. Zigbee is wireless radio. Is wireless radio the only possible?
Describe what's inbetween the two devices. Sea, free view, hill, road, bridge, houses, power line, trees...
Describe what and where the two devices are.

Please give more details, otherwise it is impossible to give (good) answer.
