yes.capacitor have a large varities and limits and according to purpose and construction we usse.like ceramic capacitor ,plate capactir Electro lytic capacitr etc.
Capacitors come in various types, each type has its own characteristics specify the case in which they can be used. here's some tips i know:
1) the polystyrene capacitor are precise, low-loss types, intended for filters or other uses where the actual capacitance is important
2)Ceramic ones are more compact, but lossy enough to wreck the performance of a sensitive design, so use them in non-critical app. in larger sizes they're also imprecise
3)electrolytic ones are very compact for 1uF upwards but imprecise and lossy, often being used for voltage smoothing or to give a low frequency cut-off
....
anyone knows anything else plz share
oh and sorry for my bad English skill
I think there is a little of confusion in your mind, electrolitic or polarised capacitor are not suited for AC application. In AC for example motor stater, filter non elettrolitic capacitor are used. In DC application you can used electrolitic or non electrolitic capacitor, it depends on what your circuit requires.
mostly electrolitic capacitor has large capacitance thats way it used for low frequency filter application of course you must determine it's polarisation.
for audio coupling used for separated between amplifier stage mostly used electrlit capacitor, because audio signal see low impedance with large capacitor.
anad olso you must consider about capacito voltage rating.
