Iam designing low noise amplifier. iam using umc 130nm library files. The resistors in the technology library has three terminals.where to connect the third terminal of the resistor.what is the purpose of the third terminal.pls explain. Thanks in advance.
The left and rigth terminals of the resistor are the classical terminals as you would have for an ideal resistor. The third terminal should be connected to sub! net.
1.Insert a subc component from your technology library
2.This component has two terminals
3.The up terminal should be named VSS or GND or whatever name you give for your ground or negative rail
4.The bottom terminal should be named sub!
5.Then you should share this net all over your circuit where it is needed (e.g. to the third/middle terminal of the real resistors)
Only one extra comment to complete the discussion. If you are using resistors implemented in N-WELL, so, you should connect the third terminal to supply voltage.
It is important to check which type of resistor you´re using.
