I guess the title pretty much says it all.

I know most RF test equipment has female connectors on it, but something makes me think there must be males on the HP 8720D

http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/product.jspx?pn=8720D

since the test lead set 85131F

http://www.home.agilent.com/agilent/product.jspx?cc=SG&lc=eng&nid=-536902710.536879565&pageMode=OV

has

  • One cable with female connectors both ends
  • One cable with a male one end, and a female the other end.

If anyone is able to clarify this, I would appreciate it.

OK, given I now have the 8720D here myself, I can clarify this, just in case anyone else wants to know.

The connectors are female on the front. However, they have large thread on the nut, which allows them to tighten more securely to the 85131F flexible cables, which have much larger threads than standard female. So a standard 3.5 mm female connector will mount on an 8720D, but it wont be as stable as the correct test cables are.
