Re: what's the major difference between structure ASIC and F
hi,
In structured ASIC:
1. here only interconnect is customized
2. it contains base cells(sometimes called as primitive cells) and custom
blocks are embedded.
3. manufacturing time is varying from 2 days to 2 weeks.
In FPGA:
1.none of the mask layers are customized.
2. its core area is regular array of programmable logic cells.
2.FPGA's also called as programmable ASICs
3. design time is around few hours.
