Is really S-V.H.S. V.C.R. offering a better image than V.H.S. one?

Re: S-V.H.S. vs V.H.S.

S-VHS should produce a great improvement in luminance of picture details, due to its horizontal resolution of 425 lines per picture height (about 566 horizontal pixels) versus VHS's 240 lines.

I have both S-VHS and VHS and I see more details with the former.
