Whats the best way to control DC motor used in Small robots

DC motor controle ???

Which is the best ways of controlling an DC motors used in Small robots? Are there any online books or documetations on Robotics and the controlling of DC motors?

you can use a transistor brige to inverter motor rotary, look in ggogle about

you can use L293D chip. it is most populer dc motor control chip for robotics applications.

Try using Transistors as direction switching and resistors for speed controlling ?

Use an H-Bridge circuit if you want to change directions of the motor.

      T    T VCC
      |     |
SW  \     \ SW
      |     |
     +-M-+
      |     |
SW  \     \ SW
      |     |
      V    V GND

Switches can be relays, transistors, mosfets, etc. You should put diodes reverse biased across the switches to protect them.

Most people use Pulse Width Modulation on the top two switches to control the speed.

I use L298N from ERE is good for my robot. It has over current shut down. refer www.ere.co.th
