talk about your viewpoint on the concept and the tools of ESL nowadays or future.
DSP programming relies on a software-oriented methodology, while
FPGAs are programmed with tools that evolve from a hardware-centric
approach. Yet, the two find themselves being brought together more
frequently. A joint offering from Celoxica and Sundance uses
Celoxica's C-based ESL tools to enable system optimization via a
broad array of Sundance's off-the-shelf modules and systems. The
combination addresses the critical needs of hardware/software
co-design, DSP/FPGA integration, power utilization, and cost
reduction.
The companies will focus initially on software-defined radio and
complex image processing. Joint products will roll out in the fourth
quarter at the Global Signal Processing Expo in Santa Clara, Calif.
