What software to use for Simulation

Hi Mentor ,

I am a newbie in electronics.
I have studied electronics in academics. All it was theory.
But if you go for job the practical electronics is used.
And we have to learn how to convert theory which u learnt in academics to practical version.
My point is I want a simulation software that design electronic circuit and shows the output. Means electronics in practice /practical.

Kindly give me the names/links of software which solve this purpose means simulation software so that I can download from internet.

The Spice program is commonly used to simulate analog circuits. One of the better free ones is the download of LTspice from Linear Technology. It has a fairly steep learning curve but the Help files, Tutorial, and many sample circuits will help you get started. There's also an LTspice user's group in Yahoo that can help.

But note that Spice does not design the circuit. It only simulates the circuit that you designed.

It comes with a library of ready-to-run circuits.

I also like LTspice. It is a very capable, and completely free software.

Its user's group is very helpful and have tons of models and simulation tricks.

I suggest you get familiar with a couple, so that in your
interview when they ask about -their- favorite (which you
cannot likely afford) you can answer them with an inductive
proof (i.e. you've picked up one, then another, so theirs is
not a problem).

LTSpice is great not only because it's free, but because it
has a pretty active user community, Yahoo! group and a
repository of many circuits which can get you going before
you understand all of the workings.

If you are thinking about creating some sort of interview eye
candy, do it for a circuit that interests you, so that your
enthusiasm & self-motivation is also laid out for them to see.
