What kind of networks certification should i apply

I am interested in networks field. My friends told me that i should get some certifications related to networks. However, which kind of network certification should i go first?
 

What about CompTIA Network+ certification?

i am interested in network field. And i am considering to get CompTIA Network+ certification. Seems that i have to pass n10-005 exam. What kind of books should i read to prepare for this network+ certification?
