What is xxx.tgz.enc files? and use what command to open it?

hello mixer 100,

generally a file named xxx.tgz is a compressed file.

u can use 'gunzip' or 'tar' commands with 'zxvf' options to uncompress it.

which linux distro are u using ?

Usually a .enc file is a encrypted one, using a DES or AES algorithm.
