For a residential (LV) power system, what would be a likely attenuation value .. in dB/Km ? The signal is (once again) in the region of 100KHz - 200KHz.
I just cannot find even an approximate value for this from literature on the 'net.
Wire rigidity, diameter, leakage all affect impedance losses and conduction losses vs f. Although well defined curves can be found for CAT3,4,5 cables and coax, power line cable has more variance.
This article define the applications and losses on HV AC lines, but I hope it can be useful for LV AC for you. It shows dB/mile vs f vs different kV power lines around page 16 of 51.
Thanks, I'd already read that paper. Though the numbers are for MV & HV lines, they just look wrong. And definitely incorrect for LV lines which has so many fluctuations & variables on it.
