Importance of DC energymeter..as almost all devices using are AC..examples of DCdevices and which all DC loads can connected to solar panel?

Simply what's the need of DC energymeter..which all DC devices connect to solarpanel..to know these devices energy consumption.
why using energymeter for solar PV system
