se and designplanner?

hi,
designplanner can be used to do floorplan, and se also can do it. what different between them?
why so many guys use designplanner to floorplan and place, and use se to do route?
Thanks.

forget about dp, nobody use it at all now.
for new flow you can use the first encounter(SOC), for old flow, you can use synopsys floorplan manager with se
