In ASIC You Usually Take A Design That Can Be Contain in Several FPGA

And Put It In One Custemised Chip. You Usually Do It When You Want To Lower Your Budget , Minimise Space, And You Mabufacture In Large Quantities.

The Main Disadvantage Is That You Can't Reconfigure ASIC Device, And Firmware Update Almost Not Possible, While You Can Do It In FPGA.
