what is the definition of "down" on a spherical earth?

Re: down

Hi,
A vector pointing to the center of the earth. Infact we are all hanging into the space from earth and but for gravity, we would have been floating in the space and we would not have had any concept of up or down.

Re: down

Hi
I think it depends on your coordinate system
If you use a topocentric or geocenteric it may differ.
If you use a non-cartesian or a cartesian system it depends.
if you assume the earth spherical or pear-shaped it differs.
