what is the critical dimension in bipolar process

what is bipolar processes?

I see a "2um 36V bipolar process" , but I did not know what this 2um often refers to.

For a CMOS process, the same value often refers to the shortest channel length.

But to a bipolar process, I did not know what does it represent.
 

As a rule the minimum width of contact
 

it is usually referring to the emitter minimum size.

Please give my link to 2um bipolar process, in which emitter minimum size 2 x 2 um
 

The lateral dimensions in bipolar processes are only
really relevant to minimum bias current; most of the
performance relates to vertical profiles.

What feature size relates to, is kind of the foundry's
call. Could be min contact, could be emitter (esp. if
a more modern, poly-emitter process). 40V flows I
have worked in, were substantially larger in the min
emitter size but that was implanted emitter.

You would want to ask the foundry in question (or
pore through their marketing blurbs looking for clues
in the drawings from when they first announced the
technology, after which point they tend to pull back
all tech info from the public view).
