Hi vermaji,

As the name suggests QMT is a philosophy used to explain the working of Tunnel diode. The peculiarity here is that the Jn of Tunnel Diode is so "thin" (barely few angstroms) that the charge carriers "tunnel" through the barrier unlike ordinary PN diods. ie., the Tunnel diode is Turned ON even at much lower potentials.
