The signal is connected to your sound card input and the waveform is displayed on your computer screen. You can use free software like Visual Analyser for this. You can download the software here: https://www.sillanumsoft.org/ Visual Analyser has other functions as well e.g. it allows you to use your computer as a spectrum analyser or signal generator too.

Bandwidth of signals is also lower (O'cope normally has above 10MHz) But considering the price, sound-card o'cope is a very cheap alternative for o'copes
